Rules

  1. All animals must comply with health regulations as stated elsewhere in this catalog.
  2. All animals entered for exhibit must be on grounds by 4:30 p.m. day of show.
  3. All open exhibitors limited to two ribbons and two premium in each class.
  4. Classes with one entry could be awarded 2nd place monies or less.
  5. Bullitt County Fair Board is not responsible for any loss or accident related to the Show.
  6. Premiums: all classes and breeds: $20, $15, $10, $5 (a fifth and sixth place will be paid of $2 and $2) if necessary due to size of class.
  7. Child must walk. Parents may assist. 

Youth Show

  1. Exhibitors must be FFA or 4-H members at the time of entry. Entries will also be accepted from youth who are members of a bona fide dairy cattle breed association and who have not reached their 21st birthday by the date of show.
  2. Youth exhibitor must show own animal.
  3. Premiums per class: $5, $3, $2
  4. Only one entry per class

Showmanship Classes

Kiddie Showmanship (8 years and under)
Junior Showmanship (9 years to 13 years)
Senior Showmanship (14 years to 21 years)
Oldie But Goody Showmanship (22 years and older)

The following classes apply to all 7 dairy breeds:

• Junior Calf – calved between March 1, 2024 to April 30, 2024
• Heifer, Intermediate – calved between December 1, 2023 to February 28, 2024
• Heifer, Senior Calf – calved between September 1, 2023 to November 30, 2023
• Heifer, Summer Yearling – calved between June 1, 2023 to August 31, 2023
• Heifer, Junior Yearling -calved between March 1, 2023 to May 31, 2023
• Heifer, Intermediate Yearling calved between December 1, 2022 to February 28, 2023
• Heifer, Senior Yearling (not in milk) calved between September 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023

JUNIOR CHAMPION FEMALE – First place heifers from Jr.classes in Open and Youth Show


RESERVE JR. CHAMPION FEMALE – Remaining first place heifers from Open and Youth Show
• Cow, 2 year old, calved between September 1, 2020 and August 31, 2022
• Cow, 3 years old, calved between September 1, 2019 and August 31, 2021
• Cow, 4 year old, calved between September 1, 2018 and August 31, 2020
• Cow, 5 year old and older, calved before September 1, 2017


SENIOR CHAMPION FEMALE – First place cow from Sr. Classes in Open and Youth Show.


RESERVE SR. CHAMPION – Remaining first place cows from Sr. classes in Open and Youth Show.


GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE – Junior and Senior Champion


RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION – Remaining contenders for champion


SUPREME JUNIOR AND SENIOR CHAMPION – The Junior and Senior champion of each breed will show against each other for Supreme. THE SUPREME JUNIOR CHAMPION AND SUPREME SENIOR CHAMPION WILL RECEIVE AN AWARD.


Any situation not covered in the Bullitt County Fair rules will be handled by the local Dairy Show Committee. The committee reserves the right to cancel any or all classes in the event of unfavorable circumstances, such as weather, etc.
